Giant Tasmanian Crab

When lugging lobster-pots on the wild West Coast, me and my friends have more than succulent crayfish on our minds. If we’re lucky, a Giant Tasmanian Crab will have hitched a ride on the lines. Once they’ve got a hold of something in their claws, they don’t let go, so bringing them aboard is no trouble. Keeping your fingers when handling them is another thing, though. They can crush beer bottles in their mighty grip! Dwelling deep, deep down in the cold dark waters off the continental shelf, these stunning creatures look (and taste) as though they’re from another world.
